Please click here to renew your membership if you have not already done so.

Please make sure that your membership commitment has been received
by September Aug 28, 2021.

For Members’ Relatives:

If you wish to have your adult children (over the age of 21) or other relatives join in our service, we ask that you make a donation on their behalf. This donation may be applied toward their membership dues if they decide to join the congregation.

For Guests:

We warmly invite you to join us for the High Holy Days. In these unusual times we would appreciate your donation of $100 to help offset our operating costs. This donation may be applied toward your membership dues if you decide to join the congregation.

We will use our Mishkan HaNefesh prayer books.  SMS members will be able to pick up copies of the prayer books at the synagogue.  Please let us know if you are unable to come by the synagogue so that we can arrange to get you copies of the prayer books.  Kindle e-reader copies are also available on-line.

The Mishkan HaNefesh prayer books can be checked out from The SMS on the following dates and at the following times

  • Friday, August 27, 2021, between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 28, 2021, between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
  • Sunday, August 29, 2021, between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.

Each household is asked to contribute Chai ($18.00) toward the costs of the High Holy Days.  Please indicate your donation on the appropriate line in the attached order form.

At this difficult time, because we can’t physically donate groceries, and when so many are suffering financially, emotionally, and physically, please consider a donation to SOVA, a JNF food pantry that provides groceries and support services to those in need.

The Jewish custom of Hidur Mitzvah (embellishment) helps to enrich our High Holy Day services.  Please make your donations, in whatever amount you’re comfortable with, on the Hidur Mitzvah Donation form by August 28, 2021.

Yizkor is a time when we remember our loved ones who have died. If you wish to have names listed in our Yizkor book that you have not submitted previously, please fill out that information in the form below.  Please note that there is a separate section for those who have died during the past year.

Be sure to print the names clearly.

All names must be submitted no later than Aug 28, 2021.

To help our school children begin to experience some of the majesty of the High Holy Days, and to familiarize them with High Holy Day songs and melodies, (Kol Nidre, Aveinu Malkeinu), we strongly encourage you to sit together as a family during services.

We invite families to join us on Rosh Hashanah afternoon at the beach between Lifeguard Stations 26 & 27 for our ceremony of Tashlich.   All eligible adults and children must be vaccinated.  Everyone must wear a mask. (This service will be held if health conditions permit.  Please watch for information in this regard.

On Yom Kippur afternoon, 3p, we will hold a family online activity / worship experience.
