Our Shabbat evening services begin at 6:00 and conclude with a festive oneg of wine, challah, and an assortment of delicious appetizers by 7:00. Led by our cantor, spirited singing fills our sanctuary as we pray in an egalitarian setting. Our rabbi reads from the Torah and discusses the weekly Torah portion with us.
The third Friday of every month we encourage families with pre-school and grade-school children to attend our evening service. The cantor reprises songs they have been learning in our religious school and our rabbi tells one of his famous stories that captivate young and old.
Shabbat Morning Services
We hold Shabbat Morning services at 10:00 am when one of our children become a Bar or Bat Mitzvah. These services are exceptionally beautiful and moving. Each 13 year-old leads the service from start to finish, leading prayers in English and Hebrew, chanting the Torah and Haftarah, and delivering a D’var Torah– Words of Torah (sermon) for us to learn. We are extremely proud of all that our children accomplish, and of the uniqueness of the B’nai Mitzvah experience that we provide.
