What is a Chavurah?
A chavurah is a small group of Santa Monica Synagogue members who meet monthly, with or without children, to share Jewish learning and experiences in an “extended family” setting. The chavurahexperience is for people who are seeking a smaller social group.
What does a Chavurah do?
Each chavurah decides its own program based on its own needs. One chavurah might be involved in a self-taught Bible study unit, while another may be going on a retreat to Lake Arrowhead; another may be inviting speakers in to raise and answer questions on a chosen topic while another may be planning their next holiday celebration involving adults’ and children’s projects.
